Version 1.74 21 September 2026

  • New fresh-install starter: two Spaces, Everyday and Focus, built from your own Phone, Messages, Browser and Camera apps. Everyday has a Space heading, an Orbit, a Search / Widgets / Settings strip and Space pills; Focus has a drawing pad that already knows two gestures — draw ∧ for your apps, ○ to search. Existing home screens are untouched.
  • Setup: each look card now shows that look's own sample home screen, drawn with real widgets, instead of a restyled copy of your current layout. Meridian is the first card; Stock minimal and Stock large are the Stock-like setup with fewer labels or bigger icons. The system back gesture steps back through the wizard.
  • The desktop search bar is gone. Search from the Search widget, a gesture, or the drawer.
  • Drawer: the plain Vertical style is a continuous grid; letter headings belong to the A–Z fast-scroll style only.
  • Gesture pad: an optional legend names the first two gestures in your library — long-press the pad › Customize › Show hint text.
  • Android 8.0: wallpaper-colour calls that only exist on newer Android are skipped instead of crashing, and the app no longer asks for raw wallpaper access on Android 13 and up.

  • Spaces: the schedule's day picker shows chosen days as filled circles and says them in words — Every day, Weekdays, or the days listed — with a one-tap Every day reset.
  • Two new settings under Settings › Home screen › Spaces: how long a space you pick by hand holds off the schedule, and where a scheduled window's end leaves you.
  • New default: when a scheduled space's time is up you return to the Default space. Change it to the space it replaced, or to stay put.

  • Fixed: tapping Phone did nothing but show its name after the Phone app's September update. Apps now open the way the stock launcher opens them, and an app whose entry point has moved still opens.
  • Status bar and navigation bar: pick light or dark icons, any colour behind them, and whether that colour fades into the wallpaper or fills the bar. Settings › Home screen.
  • The space switcher can show icons alone — Long-press it › Customize › Pill shape › Icons. The pills spread to fill the widget.

Version 1.71 15 September 2026

  • Orbit: the ring and its centre are sliders. Outer ring size scales the icons and their spread together; Inner ring size is the circle you press. Item size is folded into the outer ring.
  • Orbit: five opening animations — Bloom, Sweep, Cascade, Fade and Pop — and an animation speed, under Settings › Orbit › Behaviour. The preview replays each change as you make it.
  • The Orbit preview in Settings is now a 1:1 copy of the home screen, and the ring opens exactly where the circle settles, so the line to the item you're on starts from its centre.
  • Meridian's cards — native widgets, the orbit's discs, sheets and the dock's default — sit on the same Material You surface other apps' widgets paint on, instead of a plain grey.

  • New: Orbit — a circle for your home screen that fans your apps and actions out around it. Press and slide to pick one, or tap to pin it open and tap a bubble. Add it from the widget picker; Settings › Orbit has its items, ring, names and look, and a Move it that picks it up for you.
  • Each Orbit item can wear an icon from your icon packs — tap the icon in its row.
  • The setup wizard now shows real previews of your own home screen in four looks — Stock-like, Compact, Minimal and Big. Swipe through and apply one.
  • Richer haptics: a tick as the drawer and assistant pulls cross their thresholds, on the fast scroller's letters, on resize and on drop. A launched app's icon settles back into place when you return, folders dip when pressed, and labels get a shadow that suits the wallpaper.
  • The home-screen menu's shrink no longer pops back to full size while the menu is open.
  • Fixed: after a long-press on the home screen, swiping up for the drawer or down for the shade did nothing until the launcher restarted.
  • The drawer buzzes once as it commits, not again when it lands.
  • Meridian's accent now uses the same Material You tone other apps paint with — pale in dark theme, deep in light — instead of a punched-up middle tone of its own.

  • The assistant's attach button now offers Take a photo alongside Choose an image. Photos — from the camera or the gallery — arrive the right way up.
  • Fixed a crash opening the drawer after two or more apps had updated or been removed while it was closed. It showed up as the launcher restarting, usually just after unlocking.
  • The setup wizard no longer reappears on a cold start when it was dismissed at install — the same restarts were what kept bringing it back.

  • Folders › Open folder has a new "Show what's behind" switch. Turn it off and a see-through folder shows only the wallpaper, not the icons and widgets it is sitting on — nor the drawer's apps, for a folder opened there.
  • The fast scroller's last column of icons is tappable again: the rail only takes a touch that lands on its letters. Scrubbing down the letters no longer starts closing the drawer, a finger resting between two letters no longer flickers, and the letter bubble follows your finger.
  • Show or hide a folder's name across the top of an open folder (Folders › Open folder › Show folder name); the same place now offers the Show app names switch.
  • The drawer's bottom search bar no longer gets stranded part-way up the screen after the keyboard closes.

  • Kustom Live Wallpaper (KLWP) presets now work the way they do on Nova: a wallpaper button that launches an app opens it straight away after pressing home, instead of five seconds later.
  • "Meridian actions" appears in any app's Launch shortcut picker — KLWP, KWGT, Tasker — so a wallpaper button can open the app drawer, expand notifications, change page, switch space and more.
  • Wallpapers that change their colours often no longer make the launcher rebuild every icon each time they do.
  • Drawer suggestion settings — the frequently used row and how it ranks — apply at once, not after closing and reopening the drawer.
  • Thirty-five fixes from a front-to-back read of the code. Among them: renaming an app now reaches its desktop icons; folder labels follow the label style you chose; replaced custom icons no longer pile up in backups; and the setup wizard's label, badge and dock choices all land where Settings reads them.
  • Also: widgets survive an app updating underneath them, and work-profile widgets bind without a dialog; the flashlight toggle follows the system torch; the fast scroller picks the letter you touch; and swiping pages no longer triggers needless rebuilds.

  • The app drawer can be organized with folders instead of tabs. Each group becomes a tile that opens, and its apps leave the main list the way a home screen folder's do. Your groups are the same either way, so you can switch back whenever you like.
  • In the drawer's edit mode, hold an icon and drag it onto a folder, a tab or another app — the same drag, and the same highlight, as the home screen. Drop two apps together to make a folder.
  • Edit mode now lights the drawer's edges in your system accent colour, so it is obvious when it is on.
  • The frequently used row says what it is, and can rank by time used or by last opened. If usage access is missing it now says so, with the permission one tap away, instead of showing nothing.
  • Settings' drawer preview follows the organization you actually chose, and shows your own folders and tabs rather than three placeholders.
  • Fixed: in list view a hovered icon had its edges cut off, and a second clipped copy of the app name sat underneath every icon.
  • Fixed: filing an app into a folder left a blank row behind in the list.
  • Fixed: the icons flickered when entering or leaving edit mode.

  • Dark mode switches apply straight away in Settings, and the mode list no longer goes blank afterwards.
  • The paged app drawer has its own rows setting. Zero fits as many rows as the icon size allows.
  • Frequently used apps appear as soon as usage access is granted, and the paged drawer shows them too. Settings offers to grant access when it is missing.
  • Manage screens shows which screen you are on and how many there are.
  • Icons and labels: the Defaults tab sets icon size and labels for every surface at once.
  • Select apps in the drawer and tap Add to make a new drawer folder, without a trip to Settings.
  • The navigation bar is transparent with three-button navigation as well as gestures.
  • The drawer's search bar can take its own colour and opacity, and can show a voice search button.
  • Top and bottom margins are separate settings now, and the drawer has margins of its own.

  • Live wallpapers with touch, such as KLWP, now get every tap on the home screen, including taps on the dock, the search bar and widgets. Only a tap on empty desktop used to reach them, so buttons along the bottom of a preset did nothing.
  • A multi-screen live wallpaper now stays on the screen you are looking at when you come back from an app. It used to snap back to its first screen while the desktop stayed where you left it.

  • Settings has its own card in Recents now, so you can switch back to it like any other app instead of going through the home screen.
  • Colour settings open a full colour wheel with a brightness strip and hex entry. The quick-pick swatches are still there underneath; pick, then tap OK.
  • New drawer option, Remember scroll position: the drawer reopens where you left it instead of at the top. It sits next to Remember selected tab.
  • The number beside a slider no longer gets cut off while you drag it, and sections in Settings have more room before their divider.

  • The app drawer's edit pencil no longer sits alone on an empty line when you have no folder tabs. With no tabs to show, that whole row is gone and the pencil moves to the end of the search bar.

  • Frosted glass is gone. The drawer, the assistant page, the dock and every widget card now use a flat fill: Wallpaper colors or a color of your own. It was the most expensive thing the launcher drew and the cause of a long run of visual bugs.
  • The in-app wallpaper picker went with it — it existed only so the blur could read the wallpaper. Wallpaper now opens the system chooser.
  • Settings fix: the drawer and assistant fill, and the drawer opener row, no longer snap back to their first option every time you reopen the section. Your custom color stays chosen.

  • Defaults that suit any phone. New installs get a flat tinted drawer and assistant instead of a blur, labels and page dots that pick dark or light from the wallpaper, a dock as wide as the grid, rotation off on phones, and seven rows on a short screen.
  • Low-memory phones get the lighter motion set that battery saver already used, so nothing stutters on a Go-edition device.
  • Existing installs keep the defaults they were set up with; nothing on your home screen moves.

  • The assistant now knows Meridian's own widgets — space switcher, current space, smart shelf, quick actions, gesture pad and ask bar — and can place, move and remove them. Every space it builds gets the space switcher, a full dock, and each app only once.
  • Colours keep up: themed icons and the assistant's send button repaint the moment your system colour scheme changes, with no cache reset.
  • Icon packs cover apps that renamed their launcher activity, so Lawnicons now themes Slack and friends.
  • Fresh installs start on an 8x4 grid with square corners and a list drawer, and the setup walkthrough no longer asks about the grid. Widgets are clipped to the system's widget radius; Meridian's own start at their fullest rounding.
  • Automatic backups also run when you return home, there is a Back up now row that shows when the last one was written, the drawer no longer leaves random empty slots, a flat drawer fill has no outline, and the model picker is an icon in the assistant header.

Version 1.57 3 September 2026

  • The assistant slides out cleanly. Swiping it away used to draw the page in two places on alternating frames; it now tracks your finger in one place, and its frosted glass stays pinned to the wallpaper as it moves.
  • Page swipes are back to the feel you liked: the wallpaper follows the pages directly, no transition is applied by default, and the page dots appear instantly.

  • Nothing cuts any more. Empty pages fold closed, rotation dissolves, removed icons shrink away, folder contents slide into their new places, and the desktop steps back under its long-press menu.
  • Small physics: the dock shifts against the page scroll, a stretch ticks as it snaps back, a downward swipe nudges the screen with it, and the open folder's tile hollows while its sheet is up.
  • The drawer ticks per letter on the fast-scroll rail and its chosen tab lands with a little overshoot; search glows on focus; assistant replies arrive on springs; the status bar tints for whatever is on top.

  • Depth. The home screen steps back under the drawer, the assistant and an open folder; icons cross-fade when a pack or theme changes; sheets arrive on springs; search grows out of the desktop bar.
  • Feedback. A glow marks the edge a held icon will flip toward, a hard drawer fling lands with a tick, menus cascade in, and the undo bar shows its countdown.
  • Respect. The system's remove-animations setting now wins over the in-app speed, and battery saver calms the springs and thins the frost. In Settings, the preview pulses the part you changed, and long app names fade instead of ending in dots.

  • The small things. Icons grow as you hold them, the drop outline glides between cells, faint guides and dimmed labels appear while you carry something, and new icons bounce into place.
  • Page dots step out of the way after a scroll, the wallpaper trails the pages, a subtle new page transition is the default, notification badges pop and shrink, and dark mode dissolves instead of flashing.
  • Resizing a widget ticks at every cell and shows its size. Drop two apps of a kind together and the folder names itself. Sliders show their value under your thumb, and the backup row says when the next one is due.

  • Pick a model per chat. Tap the provider line at the top of the assistant to switch this conversation to any provider you've set up, and star one as the default that new chats start on.
  • Switching spaces is a clean cross-fade again.

  • Everything moves on springs now. Pages, the drawer and folders carry your flick's speed into the settle and can be caught mid-flight. The home screen stretches at its ends, icons cascade in, a tapped icon lifts as its app opens, and dropped icons settle into their cell.
  • Back is predictive: drag it and the folder, menu, drawer or assistant follows your finger, springing back if you let go. The page dots stretch as you scroll, long-press menus spring out of their icon, spaces slide in the direction you switched, and the keyboard carries the chat composer and search up with it.
  • Assistant fixes: opening a settings section and creating a backup actually happen, review mode has Apply and Discard, grid changes undo as one, Stop is immediate, and switching chats mid-reply no longer crosses the streams.

  • Settings, tidied. Icons and labels live in one place with a strip to pick the surface you're styling; paired switches became one choice (background fill, wallpaper scrolling, the drawer opener); gestures are grouped; Search, Backup, About and Advanced each lost their duplicate rows.
  • Previews stay put. Every visual section keeps its live miniature pinned above the list, drawn over your own wallpaper, so you can watch a slider land while your thumb is still on it. The drawer preview is the real drawer now, in whichever style you use.
  • Spaces' schedule and trigger switches have rows of their own, the assistant's context budget is set per provider, and turning frost off no longer leaves a blur behind the drawer.

  • The space switcher is a widget again: every space as a pill you can tap, as names or as colour dots, with the same background, corner radius and opacity controls every other widget has — and it stacks with them.
  • Spaces can wear a real icon. Open a space's editor, tap Icon, and pick from any icon pack you have installed or from your photos. It shows on the switcher, on the current-space card and on the switcher widget's pills.
  • The switcher's cards are all one size now, whether or not a space runs on a schedule.

  • Space schedules switch on time now, wherever you are. A schedule or a Bluetooth trigger fires with the launcher closed and the screen off, instead of waiting until you next come back to the home screen.
  • Dialogs, drop-downs and menus are painted from your palette, so nothing lands as a grey box on a themed home screen. Fan folder previews match the swatch you picked them from, and their icons are bigger.
  • One wallpaper again — per-space wallpapers are gone, and the frosted glass keeps its blur through the change. The assistant can turn its Material You background off, and the clock and space switcher widgets have been retired.

  • Stack swipes became a reveal: the next widget is uncovered underneath as you slide the old one away, the page dots fade when you're not paging, and the stack menu gained drag-to-reorder.

  • Widget stacks, discoverable: long-press any widget for Create stack, or a stack for Add widget — no more knowing to drop one widget onto another.
  • Stack swipes feel real now: widgets slide with your finger, loop endlessly in both directions, and can't be stolen by the page underneath. Long-pressing a stacked widget no longer opens its app when you let go.

  • Settings are now per space. The dropdown at the top of Settings picks which space you're editing — every space follows your Default space until you customize a setting there, so a new space starts as an exact copy of it. Customized settings show a dot, and reset per item or all at once.
  • Space schedules can now run on the days you choose, set with the day chips in the space editor.
  • The assistant changes the space you're looking at when you ask it to tweak settings — and tells you so — and its glass now matches your drawer's corner radius.

  • Real frosted glass. Set your wallpaper through Meridian — long-press the home screen, Wallpaper, "Pick a photo" — and every Blur background becomes a true blur of what's actually behind it: widgets, the drawer and the assistant, in light and dark.
  • Three new widgets in the picker's Meridian section: a smart shelf of the apps you're most likely to open right now, a current-space card that shows the schedule holding it, and a quick-actions grid for anything a gesture can do — flashlight, apps, quick settings.
  • Every widget now offers the same four backgrounds — None, Solid, Outline and Blur — with one consistent customize dialog, and follows light/dark switches everywhere, instantly.
  • Spaces now change only their look (grid, icons, dock); behavior settings stay global, so a switch in Settings always tells the truth. Plus the drawer search can sit at the bottom, and drawer corners can round as far as your screen's.

  • Every setting in Settings does something now. Two of them didn't: the dock's own swipe-up picker, and the Labs switch — both wrote a value nothing ever read.
  • Notification dots, the New badge, live clock hands and folder tile styles change the moment you flip them, instead of waiting for your icons to redraw for some other reason.
  • The status bar shadow draws on its own again — with the shade tint at zero it had been painting nothing at all.
  • Settings that can't reach anything in your setup — a custom color while Material You is on, page transitions on a drawer that scrolls — now go dim instead of taking a change nothing reads.

  • Rotation is here: turn your phone and the whole home screen turns with it — the dock becomes a side rail in landscape, and your icons keep their size.
  • Settings redesigned: cards, search, visual pickers, and live previews that show your home screen, dock, icons, drawer and folders change as you tune them.
  • Protected: home-screen apps from a locked Private Space are never lost — they wait for the next unlock.
  • Plus a deep round of fixes: safer Nova imports, smarter undo for swipe-up widget popups, global edits that keep your renames, and the assistant bar clear of button navigation.

  • Switching from Nova? Import your whole layout from a .novabackup file — Settings → Backup, or right in the setup wizard.
  • Organize for me: one tap suggests tidy drawer tabs for your apps, with a preview and undo. Optionally keeps filing new installs.
  • The drawer is tabs-only now — simpler and faster. Your drawer folders became tabs automatically, keeping their apps.
  • Private Space gets its own drawer tab, and hidden apps can require your fingerprint. Swipe up on an icon to pop open a widget. Clock and search widgets work on the Android 16 lock screen.

Version 1.27

  • New: the Gesture pad. Place it from the widget picker, record any shape — a letter, a scribble — and drawing it runs your action: flashlight, an app, dialing someone. Resizable, with adjustable transparency.
  • Fixed: taps in dialogs over the home screen landed one row below where they should.
  • Fixed: the stock launcher could show through the home screen.
  • The home screen stays in portrait for now.

Version 1.26

  • Drawer tabs are now pages: swipe between them, and the chips follow your finger. Long-press a chip to edit it in place, or tap + to make a new tab or folder.
  • New edit mode: tap the pencil (top right) to select several apps at once, then file, remove or hide them together. Tap a folder's minus to delete it, with undo.
  • Per-tab and per-folder "Keep apps in All apps": file apps away without duplicates.
  • Choosing apps for a tab or folder is a real picker now, with search and icons. The search bar also rides above the keyboard instead of hiding behind it.

  • Settings → About now shows the installed version. Tap it to copy the full build details for a bug report.
  • Built against Android 16, which Google Play requires from 30 August 2026.

  • Fixed: the app drawer could stop half open — swiping up while it was closing, or having a swipe interrupted, left it stranded mid-travel.
  • Smoother home screen fade as the drawer opens and as the assistant page slides in.
  • Hiding the status bar now warns that Android hides notification bubbles on the home screen while it is off.
