Kustom is the reason a lot of people stay on a launcher they have otherwise outgrown. Meridian was fixed specifically so it would not be one more launcher that breaks KLWP.
What breaks elsewhere, and what Meridian does
Touches that go nowhere
A KLWP preset's touch zones need the launcher to forward every tap on the live wallpaper through to the wallpaper service. Many launchers consume the tap themselves, or forward only some of them, and your preset becomes a picture. Meridian forwards every tap.
Offsets that reset
Presets that respond to page scrolling read the wallpaper offset. If the launcher republishes the offset when it resumes, the preset snaps to the wrong page every time you come back from an app. Meridian stopped resetting offsets on resume in version 1.64.
Kustom's five-second delayed provider
Kustom exposes a touch provider that intentionally reports on a delay. A launcher that does not know about it treats the silence as "no touch handler" and swallows the interaction. Meridian handles it explicitly, added in 1.67 along with support for Kustom action shortcuts and a guard against the colour-storm case where a preset changes its palette faster than the launcher can repaint.
